Local Bars and Restaurants
Falmouth Town Centre has a wide variety of restaurants covering every cuisine you could wish for. We particularly like Hooked on the Rocks, Indidog, The Chain Locker, The Stable (pizza) and Pennycomequick. On the other side of town, we recommend the Star & Garter for spectacular views and great food, along with the Working Boat pub underneath the Greenbank Hotel. It’s worth venturing up the hill to Provedore on Trelawney Road, although check their opening times first.
Further afield, the Ferryboat on the Helford River is a wonderful place to watch the world go by whilst enjoying great food. Or get the water taxi across the river and enjoy the Shipwrights Arms. The Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek also serves traditional pub food with plenty of outdoor seating – parking is tricky, so conisder parking further afield and walking (or hire a boat and sail round!)
We highly recommend taking the King Harry Ferry (by car) over to the Roseland Peninsula. Head to Porthcurnick Beach and enjoy a fantastic lunch at the Hidden Hut – expect to queue, but worth the wait.
For award-winning fish and chips, try Harbour Lights on Arwenack Street. Catering for gluten-free and vegan diets, it can get really busy – thankfully click and collect is now available. Alternatively, Habaneros serve great burritos, or if you’re after a great Cornish pasty, try Oggie’s, opposite Trago Mills.
