Falmouth has 4 beaches:
Gyllyngvase beach is one of the most popular beaches in Falmouth – a Blue Flag status beach, with its wide arc of golden sand and inviting sea. Only a 5-10 minute walk away, there are toilets, a cafe kiosk and Gylly Beach Cafe. Lifeguards operate during the summer months.
Swanpool beach is a delightful cove with adjoining Swanpool Lake Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Excellent watersport centre where you can try your hand at kayaking, paddle-boarding or coasteering. Bouncy castle located on the beach during the summer months for the smaller children. Toilets and cafe, no lifeguard.
Castle beach is a tiny beach with great rockpools. No lifeguard, but there is a delightful beach-front cafe from April to October.
Maenporth beach is a beautiful sandy cove, approximately 2 miles from Falmouth town centre, perfect for sun bathing, rockpooling fishing and boating. Offers great views across Falmouth Bay towards Pendennis Castle and some superb coastal walking opportunities onwards towards the Helford river area. Cafe, toilets, no lifeguard.
